Donald Trump Jr Reacts To Prince Harry Memoir Announcement, Gets Slammed On Twitter

Donald Trump Jr. was roasted on Twitter after he seemingly threw shade at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

On Friday, Trump took to Twitter to weigh in on a report from the Daily Mail claiming that "Prince Harry has secured a four-book deal, with the second due out only after the Queen dies," which was shared on the platform by user Politics For All.

"'But but but we just want to be left alone.' Classy stuff here," Trump wrote.

A spokesperson for Prince Harry has since denied claims that the Duke of Sussex plans to publish a second memoir after his grandmother Queen Elizabeth's death. In a statement to The Independent, his rep said that contrary to "false media reports," Prince Harry is working on only one memoir, which is set to be published by Penguin Random House in late 2022.

Some Twitter users backed Trump, with one person commenting, "Yeah I think harry & megain will do virtually anything to get attention. They love media. They want to be 'left alone' about like 'bears hate salmon.'"

"Harry and Meghan need to get jobs and stop using the royal legend that they both did not want to be part of to get money. Harry needs to stop crying poor little rich boy song," another tweeted.

"I won't be buying it or reading it..." a third person wrote.

"Hope The Queen lives to be 150!" another commented.

However, many Twitter users came to Prince Harry and Markle's defense and slammed Trump over his tweet.

"Triggered?" one person commented on his post, seemingly referencing Trump's 2019 book of the same name.

"Worried that his book will do better that yours?" another wrote.

"Talking about classy stuff & books. Saw a copy of your book in the $1 tree," another tweeted.

"I love that they get under your skin," a fourth Twitter user wrote.

This was not the first time that Trump has commented on Prince Harry and Markle's activities.

Following the couple's interview with Oprah Winfrey in March, Trump tweeted, "My take on the Meghan Markle/Harry hostage video Oprah interview. Have fun and enjoy. When I’m looking for a quiet peaceful life out of the public eye the first thing I’ll do is call Oprah to do an interview."

In an interview with Rumble, Trump said he never watched the Sussexes' interview with Winfrey because it was "not worth the time, HuffPost reported.

"Are we really pretending that she’s a victim of all of this?" he was quoted as saying by the outlet. "Has she ever met a camera that she probably didn’t love? Are we really pretending that? I actually feel bad for Harry. He’s like a guy in a hostage video."

Meanwhile, Prince Harry made the announcement that he is publishing a memoir Monday, saying in a statement that he was "writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become."

"I've worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story—the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned—I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think," he said.

The Duke of Sussex continued, "I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful."
