Donald Trump has been president-elect for more than a month, and he's shown few signs of tempering his penchant for making controversial comments. As of Wednesday, he had done everything from insulting Broadway plays to criticizing comedy shows.

During his campaign, the president-elect made many of his controversial statements in real life, but much of his communication with the world outside Trump Tower since the election has come through his Twitter account.

Listed below are 17 quotes from the president-elect that have stirred up controversy:

1. On the cast of the popular Broadway show "Hamilton," who said to Vice President-elect Mike Pence that they were representative of a "diverse America" and they "truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our America values and work on behalf of all of us."

"Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing. This should not happen!"

"The cast and producers of Hamilton, which I hear is highly overrated, should immediately apologize to Mike Pence for their terrible behavior"

2. About intelligence briefings

"I'm, like, a smart person. I don't have to be told the same thing in the same words every single day."

3. Referencing protests that broke out nationwide after he was elected president

"Just had a very open and successful presidential election. Now professional protesters, incited by the media, are protesting. Very unfair!"

4. Talking about making "deals" as president

"If I were going to do new deals right now, I am turning down billions of dollars of deals."

5. Addressing "lock her up" chants, referencing jailing his opponent Democrat Hillary Clinton, at a Wisconsin rally

"You people don't stop. 'Lock her up. Lock her up.' I used to say when I hear this chant — 'let's just win on November 8th,' but now we've won. Big league. You people, I'll tell ya, tough people in Wisconsin, fellas."

6. Tweeting about Saturday Night Live, which poked fun at him in a show

"Just tried watching Saturday Night Live - unwatchable! Totally biased, not funny and the Baldwin impersonation just can't get any worse. Sad"

7. Discussing women and abortion rights, including his plan to appoint pro-life judges to the Supreme Court who would be open to overturning Roe vs. Wade

"Yeah, well, they’ll perhaps have to go, they’ll have to go to another state."

8. Talking about conflicts of interest with the New York Times

"As far as the, you know, potential conflict of interests, though, I mean I know that from the standpoint, the law is totally on my side, meaning, the president can’t have a conflict of interest. That’s been reported very widely. Despite that, I don’t want there to be a conflict of interest anyway."

9. On international conflicts

"The president of the United States is allowed to have whatever conflicts he wants — he or she wants. But I don’t want to go by that. Jared’s [son-in-law Jared Kushner] a very smart guy. He’s a very good guy. The people that know him, he’s a quality person and I think he can be very helpful. I would love to be able to be the one that made peace with Israel and the Palestinians. I would love that, that would be such a great achievement. Because nobody’s been able to do it."

10. On reports he'd still be listed as a producer for the reality TV show "The Apprentice," which he formerly hosted

"I have NOTHING to do with The Apprentice except for fact that I conceived it with Mark B & have a big stake in it. Will devote ZERO TIME!"

11. Criticizing a local union leader in Indiana who said Trump lied to factory workers about how many jobs were going to be saved at a Carrier plant

"Chuck Jones, who is President of United Steelworkers 1999, has done a terrible job representing workers. No wonder companies flee country!"

12. Claiming Boeing was charging $4 billion for a new Air Force One plane, which the company later denied

"Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!"

13. Assorted insults lobbed at the press, including the New York Times, CNN and the media at large

If the press would cover me accurately & honorably, I would have far less reason to "tweet." Sadly, I don't know if that will ever happen!

"Just watched @NBCNightlyNews - So biased, inaccurate and bad, point after point. Just can't get much worse, although @CNN is right up there!"

"@CNN is so embarrassed by their total (100%) support of Hillary Clinton, and yet her loss in a landslide, that they don't know what to do."

"Perhaps a new meeting will be set up with the @nytimes. In the meantime they continue to cover me inaccurately and with a nasty tone!"

14. Going after China

"Did China ask us if it was OK to devalue their currency (making it hard for our companies to compete), heavily tax our products going into their country (the U.S. doesn't tax them) or to build a massive military complex in the middle of the South China Sea? I don't think so!"

15. On people burning the American flag, which the Supreme Court found years ago was protected under the Constitution

"Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag - if they do, there must be consequences - perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail!"

16. Claiming, despite lack of any evidence, that millions of people voted illegaly in the election, which he, of course, won

In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally

17. Reacting bluntly to the death of former Cuban leader Fidel Castro

"Fidel Castro is dead!"
