Donald Trump was recently lambasted on Twitter after he seemingly mocked Mitt Romney and the latter’s coronavirus test results.
Earlier this week, reports swirled that Romney tested for coronavirus. But a few days later, it was confirmed that he was actually coronavirus-free. When Trump found out about Romney’s latest results, he couldn’t help but tweet about it.
“This is really great news! I am so happy I can barely speak. He may have been a terrible presidential candidate and an even worse U.S. Senator, but he is a RINO, and I like him a lot!” the POTUS wrote.
However, his tweet did not sit well with a lot of people. Some of Trump’s critics urged him to resign while others claimed that Melania Trump’s husband should also get arrested.
“The day of your resignation and arrest will forever be a national holiday,” Twitter user @RickKyker said.
“To be safe, he should remain in quarantine for the next five years,” Twitter user @JoeySalads said.
“A toddler in the White House under a pandemic. What could go wrong?” Twitter user @morten said.
“I can’t believe this is a real tweet,” Twitter user @tonyposnanski said.
“Chiming in with a friendly reminder that your hands are abnormally small, Mr. President. Be safe, little fella,” Twitter user @JarBomb said.
“Stop with the sarcasm,” Twitter user @JeffreyGutterman said.
“How can anyone in the world respect Donald Trump?” Twitter user @pablo_honey1 said.
“Ah, there it is. You can't go more than 24 hours without imploding and lashing out like a 5-year-old. Also, are you aware there is a global pandemic that is growing faster in OUR country than any other place in the world right now? RESIGN,” Twitter user @JumptyTrumpty said.
Meanwhile, Trump is seemingly still bitter over Romney’s previous decision to have him impeached despite both of them being Republicans.
“I will tell my children and their children that I did my duty to the best of my ability, believing that my country expected it of me,” Romney said while defending his decision.
