Donald Trump's Fake Time Magazine Cover: 5 Ways To Tell March 2009 Issue Was Not Real
According to a Washington Post report, published Wednesday, fake Time magazine covers have been put on display in several golf clubs owned by President Donald Trump.
The magazine covers in question feature Trump on the cover of an issue that was never published by Time, the Washington Post reported.
These duplicate magazines have been put on display at the Trump’s golf resorts in Doral, Florida; Trump National Golf Club near Washington, D.C.; Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida and Doonbeg in western Ireland.
"I can confirm that this is not a real TIME cover," Kerri Chyka, a spokeswoman for Time Inc., wrote in an email to the Washington Post.

There were a number of telltale signs that made it apparent that the Time magazine covers hanging in Trump’s golf clubs were fake.
Firstly, the red border that ran along the outer length of the cover is much thinner than the one that lines authentic Time magazines. The red border also missed the delicate white border that marked the inner lining of these issues.
On top of that, the headline layout did not match the ones that generally appears on top of the magazine.
Apart from that, there were stylistic inaccuracies throughout the cover, including the use of excessive capitalized words. The main headline was sensationalized and read "DONALD TRUMP: The 'Apprentice' is a television smash!" while the line "TRUMP IS HITTING ON ALL FRONTS … EVEN TV!" was placed on top of the magazine logo.

One of the subheadings referenced to Obamacare, the healthcare policy introduced by former President Barack Obama that is on its way to being repealed by the Trump administration. "Obama's Next Move: Can He Curb Health-Care Costs?" and "Global Warming: A New Age of Extinction," the subheading read.
The biggest inaccuracy, however, was the date printed on the copy — March 1, 2009. The Post confirmed that no Time magazine issues were published on that date. In fact, Time brought out an issue on March 2, 2009, that featured actress Kate Winslet and her critically acclaimed role in the movie “The Reader.”
And speaking of dates, Trump had not featured in any of the issues that were published in the year 2009 by Time magazine. In fact, Trump had been featured on the magazine’s cover only once, in January 1989, before he ran for office last year. So there can be no doubt of the fact that the array of covers hanging in the president’s golf clubs was photoshopped.
There is no clear indication if Trump was in the know that the Time magazine covers in question were faked. Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has refused to comment on the “décor” that the president chooses to use in his golf clubs, the Guardian reported.
Time magazine has since reached out to the Trump Organization, demanding them to take down the duplicate issues, CNBC reported.
