Donald Trump's New Year Tweet Is A Lot Like His Christmas Wishes
President Donald Trump in a tweet Sunday wished everyone a happy new year and added his administration was making “America Great Again.”
The tweet had a similar tone to one which he posted on Christmas, where he wrote he will be getting “back to work” after the festivities, to “Make America Great Again.” In this tweet also he stressed his promise of making United States a “great” nation was going “faster than anyone anticipated.”
However, Trump did not really abide by what he said in his tweet on Christmas. According to reports, a day after the tweet was posted, Trump was seen at the Trump International Gold Club, playing golf with Sen. David Perdue (R-GA), PGA tour player Bryson DeChambeau and a former professional golfer, Dana Quigley.
Trump, by playing golf the day after Christmas, marked his 85th visit to a golf club after he was elected president. However, out of these 85 visits, there was no official count of the number of days Trump actually spent playing the sport.
Trump, Sunday, in another tweet also wished his friends and supporters a happy new year. However, in the same tweet he also wished his “enemies” and took a dig at the media by calling them “Fake News Media.”
Trump, used his signature “Make America Great Again” quote in another tweet posted, Sunday, which included a video of himself meeting the leaders, victims of disasters along with some snippets of his speeches in different places. He also described 2017 by claiming “What a year it’s been.”
Much like Christmas, Trump was back at his Florida resort Mar-a-Lago to celebrate New Year’s Eve. However, his New Year celebration was the exact opposite of how he spent Christmas. Trump celebrated a quiet Christmas with his family at the resort. But he ended the year with a high profile gathering Sunday.
According to a report by the Washington Post, Trump was seen along with first lady Melania Trump and son, Barron, walking down the red carpet at his Florida resort, as the Trump family gave their farewells to 2017.
Trump also stated the stock market will continue to rise and that conglomerates will do business in the U.S., said the report.
When asked about North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un’s comment where he said he had a nuclear button on his desk, Trump reportedly replied, “We’ll see.”
Ivanka Trump along with her husband, Jared Kushner, was seen walking the red carpet along with their children.
Some of the other high profile guests at Trump’s New Year bash included former Major League Baseball player Keith Hernandez. U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Munchin also made an appearance with his wife, Louise Linton, the Scottish actress.
Trump, in the early hours of Sunday, in a tweet aimed at the opposition Democrats stated their “policies will totally kill the great wealth” if they are elected to Congress in the 2018 elections.
He also stated in another tweet if Democrat leader Hillary Clinton got elected as president, then stock would “be down 50 percent from values on Election Day.”
