Donna Karan took a more sophisticated approach when designing her 2012 Resort Collection. In Karan's 2012 collection, dresses are form fitted to hug every feminine curve, pants are also fitted with a boot cut leg and jackets are just snug enough to show off the slender upper body of the models. There is a mix-and - match palette of red, white and black. Silver followed later to create very simple look without sacrificing style. Some of the garments' silhouettes were office casual for daytime wear while others were more formal pieces for evening like a tulle and ribbon ivory dress and a strapless black number.

Donna Karan's favorite characteristic of her collection is the fact that the fabrics stretch. This is the beautiful thing about these; they fit her, they fit me, Karan said. The designer also stated, They're meant to be worn every single night during the holiday season. With the figure hugging gowns and chic pant suits, keeping your holiday look trendy won't be a problem.
