A 53-year-old man in Texas allegedly killed his father and sister before ending own life.
The police responded to a scene of a house fire last weekend in Carrollton, and found the charred bodies of three people.
On Tuesday, the Carrollton police identified the victims of the incident. The 77-year-old man was William Roy Singer Jr., and his 51-year-old daughter was Cheri Ann Singer, according to the Carrollton police.
Authorities said 53-year-old William Randolph Singer, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head, killed his father and sister before the house fire at 3915 Alto Ave, according to the Star-Telegram.
The trio had been living together in the same house. William Roy and Cheri reportedly died from "trauma." However, an exact cause of death would be revealed only after the autopsy reports are out. The motive behind the incident remains unknown. The cause of the fire was also not revealed.
One neighbor told WFAA-TV he spoke to the son a few days before the killings, according to the Star-Telegram.
"At the end of the conversation, he said you have to go out and live life because you never know what happens and he said you can go 20 or 30 years without being happy, and I said, 'Yes, I will pray for your mom,' and I left," the neighbor said, who had asked William Randolph about his mother's health. His mother was reportedly in the hospital after suffering a stroke.
The officials at Holy Covenant Early Childhood Development Program where Cheri worked scheduled a special gathering at 2 p.m. Thursday
"She was an incredible teacher and co-worker. Words cannot express how devastated we all are and how much she will be missed. May light shine perpetually on Ms. Singer," the school said in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends and all whose lives were made better simply because she was a part of it."
Last month, a Minnesota couple with cancer killed themselves as part of a pact. The duo posted a goodbye message on Facebook before ending their lives. Deputies with the Detroit Lakes Police Department reached a residence in the Lakeview Township near Detroit Lakes after receiving a call. They found the couple – Steven Alton Stearns, 45, and Stacy Lynn Stearns, 49, – died along with their two dogs, Detroit Lakes Tribune reported at the time. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the cause of death of Stacey as a homicide, adding Steven killed himself.
