Dow and S&P cut losses; Nasdaq turns positive
The Dow and the S&P 500 cut losses on Wednesday, led by gains in the energy sector, and the Nasdaq briefly turned positive.
U.S. crude oil jumped more than 1 percent to $83.35 a barrel in mid-morning trade, sending energy companies on the Dow Jones industrials index, including Chevron Corp
The Dow <.DJI> was down 12.47 points, or 0.11 percent, at 10,894.95. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 0.74 points, or 0.06 percent, at 1,172.53. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was up 1.07 points, or 0.04 percent, at 2,411.76.
