Webb Simpson won the 2012 U.S. Open on Sunday night, winning the first Major of his career. Simpson finished the tournament at one over par. He defeated Graeme McDowell by one stroke.

The golfer celebrated the victory with his wife, Dowd, at The Olympic Club. The couple flew home to North Carolina from San Francisco after the weekend tournament.

Simpson and his wife met each other while the two attended college at Wake Forest. Dowd stayed close to home for school after growing up in Charlotte. She finished college with a bachelor's degree and aspirations of becoming an actress.

Dowd, whose full name is Taylor Dowd Keith, married Webb on Jan. 2, 2010. The two had their first son, James, a year ago.
