‘Downton Abbey’ Season 6 Spoilers: Episode 6 Synopsis, Trailer And Photos Released
The dowager countess is not going down without a fight. Violet (Maggie Smith) will still be out to prevent change at the hospital in “Downton Abbey” Season 6, episode 6. According to the synopsis, she’ll fight even harder once she realizes she doesn’t have many people on her side.
“The hospital war reaches a climax,” the PBS summary teases. “Violet goes on the warpath.” After an unsuccessful dinner with the minister of health and Dr. Clarkson’s (David Robb) change of heart last week, Violet won’t have many people fighting for the hospital’s independence. It doesn’t sound like the dowager countess will get her way, but she might not accept defeat gracefully.
Meanwhile, Violet’s granddaughters, Edith (Laura Carmichael) and Mary (Michelle Dockery), will be having a much easier time in this episode. “Prospects are looking up for Mary and Edith,” the synopsis reveals. It’s their love lives that are doing particularly well. Edith will continue to bond with Bertie (Harry Hadden-Paton) while Henry (Matthew Goode) will make his intentions clear to Mary. Will the sisters find love in the final season?
Downstairs has plenty of drama in episode 6 as well. Once Barrow (Robert James-Collier) agreed to tutor Andy (Michael Fox), it seemed like he finally had something to look forward to. However, he’ll start to feel “trapped” in this episode.
Elsewhere, Daisy (Sophie McShera) will find herself once again unable to hold her tongue. “Daisy tries to foil a romance,” the synopsis reveals. The kitchen maid will get a bit protective when someone gets close to Mr. Mason (Paul Copley).
In the trailer, it looks like everyone at Downton will be preparing for tour groups. The house is opened to the public as a fundraiser, and the townspeople will finally get to see how the Crawley family lives. Watch the promo video for “Downton Abbey” Season 6, episode 6 below:
