‘Downton Abbey’ Season 6 Spoilers: Episode 7 Synopsis And Photos Released
The romances are heating up on “Downton Abbey.” Mary (Michelle Dockery) and Henry (Matthew Goode) finally kissed in the last installment, but they still have obstacles to overcome. In Season 6, episode 7, Mary will have to deal with his dangerous job.
“A car race gives Mary flashbacks,” the synopsis reveals. Of course, her husband Matthew (Dan Stevens) died in a car crash. She explained that this is why she doesn’t like cars, and Henry said she didn’t have to watch him race — but he’d like her to. Apparently, she’ll try to please her new man, but it won’t be an easy day for her. Will the race go smoothly or will Mary’s worst fears come true?
Though this hour wasn’t planned as a Valentine’s Day special, it’s certainly fitting that there will be plenty of romance in the Feb. 14 episode. Mary isn’t the only Crawley sister with some romantic drama. “Things get serious for Edith [Laura Carmichael],” the synopsis reveals. She and Bertie (Harry Hadden-Paton) seem to be on cloud nine, but he still doesn’t know the truth about Marigold. Will Edith finally tell him about her child? Or will their relationship grow, despite Edith’s secret?
Meanwhile, the downstairs staff will have plenty of excitement as well. Mrs. Patmore’s (Lesley Nicol) B&B will open, and she’ll host her first guest. She’ll also help Mrs. Hughes (Phyllis Logan) find a way to deal with Mr. Carson’s (Jim Carter) criticism. He hasn’t been very kind about her cooking skills. “Mrs. Hughes tricks Carson,” the synopsis reveals. Hopefully, her hoax teaches her husband a lesson.
Elsewhere, “Robert gets a surprise gift.” It isn’t clear what this treat is, but the recently injured patriarch will finally be out of bed in episode 7. He’ll be able to attend the car race with Mary and several other family members.
“Downton Abbey” Season 6, episode 7 airs Sunday at 9 p.m. EST on PBS.
