Dr. Fauci Says Santa Claus Vaccinated & Boosted, 'Good To Go' To Safely Deliver Presents
Dr. Anthony Fauci has alleviated fears that Santa Claus may miss his duties this holiday season.
Fauci assured that Santa will not be “spreading any infections to anybody,” because Fauci himself vaccinated Santa last year before Christmas. Santa has also received the booster shot, according to Fauci.
“Santa already has great innate immunity," Fauci told USA Today on Wednesday. "This year he is even more protected because he has been fully vaccinated and boosted. Santa will be just fine and is good to go!”
In a “Sesame Street" town hall put on by CNN last year, an eight-year-old girl named Lucy, from San Rafael, California, asked a question that she said many children were wondering: "How did Santa get the vaccine and is it safe for him to go in the house?"
Fauci responded to Lucy, “I took care of that for you because I was worried that you'd all be upset."
"I vaccinated Santa Claus myself, I measured his level of immunity and he is good to go," he added.
Children ages 5-11 are eligible to receive vaccines. On Oct. 29, the Food and Drug Administration authorized the emergency use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for the age group.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released a list of recommendations to stay safe that is available here.
