  • EA Play event teased "Dragon Age 4" arriving on next-gen consoles
  • This title may introduce one or two new races into the game
  • "Dragon Age 4's launch is scheduled in 2022

The latest EA Play event was a fruitful one for “Dragon Age” fans as the game teased its fourth installment, “Dragon Age 4.” The game’s existence was confirmed by a tree, a Red Lyrium-clad chapel and what looked like a heart of Red Lyrium.

According to Game Rant, it is pretty much confirmed that this is what fans will have to live by for some time. BioWare should be able to recreate the hype that the screenshots generated so the long wait would be worth it after all.

There’s also a likely chance that the new game will also come with updated content. The game is set with Solas dealing with the outcome of his plans. The Executors – characters from the game’s universe – are highly likely to be a present danger, as the protagonist is wary of them, “the Powers Across The Sea.”

The Kossith, who are predecessors of the Qunari and were instrumental in the Darkspawn’s creation of Ogres, could also pose dangers to the hero's arc. These Ogres were killed off, while the Qunari culture returned centuries later as reformed Qunari. The question of why the Qunari came to Thedas in the first place wasn’t answered and may possibly be discussed in this new game.

Nothing has been confirmed yet; even the console generation the game would arrive to has been hazy so far. It appears though the game is headed to next-gen consoles if followers and observers would base it on the images seen during the EA Play event, Tweaktown reported.

The visuals looked crisp and stunning and didn’t look like anything that the current generation – the PlayStation 4 or the Xbox One – could deliver. It is highly likely that “Dragon Age 4” might be one of the games that could arrive along with the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X.

The game is still early in its phases of development, and will only be expected to ship in 2022, at the earliest.
