'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' DLC To Debut This Overpowered Character, Reveals Other DLC Content
KEY POINTS
- "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" is still getting support after five years of its release
- The game has shipped around 7 million units worldwide since its release
- "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" is playable on various gaming platforms
It may be five years since the release of "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2," but game publisher Bandai Namco is still releasing endless downloadable content (DLC) support to the game with a new overpowered character apart from a few new costumes.
Bandai Namco Entertainment America recently announced a new DLC scheduled to roll out in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" this fall. According to the video game publisher, Full Power Jiren from "Dragon Ball Super" is the next DLC character launching in the hit RPG title. Bandai Namco also shared some stills showing the hyper buff villain.
The Pride Trooper was already added to the roster of playable characters in the game earlier, but it was only the base form Jiren. In other words, the one coming soon is not the ordinary version, but the Jiren who fought against Son Goku in an epic battle during the Tournament of Power saga of the hit anime "Dragon Ball Super." This is the Jiren that went head-on against the Ultra Instinct form of Goku.
In addition to the overpowered character, the video game publisher also announced several new outfits based on the classic "Dragon Ball" Bulma and Future Trunks. It also asked the fans to watch out for more updates. "Also releasing this Fall are 2 new outfits! Keep your eyes out for more updates!" Bandai Namco Entertainment America said in a tweet Thursday.
Fans can also expect other contents of the upcoming "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" DLC releasing this fall to be announced very soon. However, there is no fixed release date for the content yet.
Bandai Namco Entertainment released the game in North America and Europe in October 2016 and Japan in November 2016.
As of December 2020, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" had shipped 7 million units worldwide, including digital copies. The sequel's Nintendo Switch port was rolled out in September 2017 while it debuted on Google Stadia in December 2019. Even though the game is almost five years old and two other Dragon Ball-themed games have been released thereafter, "Xenoverse 2" continues to receive post-launch support -- a feat not many games can boast of.
"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" is playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Google Stadia.
