Bandai Namco has recently released the latest trailer for the “Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot” game. The new trailer features many of Son Goku’s iconic “Dragon Ball Z” fights. The trailer even mimics the opening sequence of “Dragon Ball Z” TV Show.

As seen on the the trailer posted on the official PlayStation Youtube channel, the “Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot” trailer opens up with the one-star Dragon Ball with the Z reflection over it. This scene is similar to the beginning of 1989 opening sequence of the “Dragon Ball Z” TV show. Many longtime fans of the series will find the trailer familiar and nostalgic for the earlier adventures of Son Goku.

The latter parts of the trailer doesn’t fully commit to showing the whole opening sequence of “Dragon Ball Z.” Aside from the nostalgic callout, the trailer does show some content of the upcoming title. Familiar characters, iconic battles with villains and their arcs, and mostly cutscenes were shown in the trailer. Nevertheless, the whole trailer encapsulates Son Goku’s adventure as an adult in whole “Dragon Ball Z” series.

Meeting friends and allies such as Future Trunks, Krillin, Chi Chi, Master Roshi, and Bulma were shown in the trailer. Other than Goku’s friends and family, villains such as Frieza, Cell, and even the kid version of Majin Buu were featured in the trailer. Earlier adventures of Goku’s adult life are even explored as the game will also feature a battle against Piccolo and Vegeta when he first arrived on Earth.

As revealed on other announcements, “DragonBall Z Kakarot” will be an Role Playing Game(RPG) title where players will mostly play as series protagonist, Son Goku. Aside from fighting the main villains in each arc, players are said to be roam the world of “Dragon Ball Z” and do other activities as Goku.

More than filling the shoes of Goku and the other Z Fighters, players can expect a challenge as the players will always have to defy the odds against stronger opponents. Players will have to work hard and smart as the character’s opponents.

“Dragon Ball Z Kakarot” is expected to be released on January 17, 2020 on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
