Drake Starts Following Kim Kardashian On Instagram, Reality Star Denies Hook-Up Rumors
On Monday, Drake started following Kim Kardashian on Instagram a few minutes after she addressed rumors about them hooking up. Kardashian’s comments came after speculations, claiming “Kiki” in Drake’s hit single "In my feelings" referred to an alliance between the two, went viral.
"Never happened. End of story," Kardashian commented on an Instagram video speculating about her history with Drake.
In the Complex’s Every Struggle video, rapper Nick Cannon and DJ Akademiks discussed the fight between Kardashian's husband, Kanye West, rapper Pusha T, and Drake. Cannon, who once dated Kim said, there might be some truth to the rumors.
“As a fan, stepping back, there’s something real personal Drake holds over that whole family, that he’s like, ‘Ya’ll don’t want me to let this out,’” he said.
“I think Drake smashed Kim K,” Akademiks said, to which Cannon responded, “That ain’t that far off of a concept.”
The theory began after a Twitter user posted a lengthy thread of messages examining a theory that Drake may be hinting at an affair with Kardashian through his lyrics.
"Drake's been telling us for months now he slept with Kim K, we just haven't been listening,” the user wrote.
He then went on to state the example of Drake using the name “Kiki,” which is also one of Kardashian’s nicknames.
The other example is a line from Drake's collaboration with Travis Scott named "Sicko Mode." Drake's house is reportedly pretty close to Kardashian’s and the lyric goes: "I crept down the block, made a right, cut the lights, paid the price."
TMZ reported the two have a set of common friends and are cordial when they run into each other at events. They, however, do not have personal relationship or friendship.
A source told the website Kardashian was never in a relationship with Drake nor were they ever intimate. It did not happen while she was married and did not happen before.
Kardashian’s husband West and Drake on the other hand continue to be at loggerheads. On Chicago’s 107.5 WGCI Morning Show on Thursday, West called Drake "insensitive.” He said the two feuded over a beat, which resulted in Drake sending him “purple demon emojis.”
“When we talk about the Drake thing, it hits me in a really sensitive place, because you hang around people and they come to your house and be around your family and this and that. And they get mad about a beat and send you purple demon emojis,” he said, ET reported.
A few hours after West’s comments, Drake hit back on social media by posting a photo of him looking unbothered and captioning it with a purple demon emoji.
