Draya Michele-Orlando Scandrick Update: ‘Basketball Wives LA’ Star Posts Instagram Support After Injury
Despite their ups and downs, “Basketball Wives LA” star Draya Michele is standing by her man, Dallas Cowboys star Orlando Scandrick. The athlete tore his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and MCL (medial collateral ligament) in his right knee during practice Thursday, NFL.com wrote, and will miss the entire 2015 season. The reality star-turned-businesswoman took to social media to support her on-again, off-again fiancé.
She shared a picture on Instagram of her left hand holding his in the hospital. Michele, 29, also made sure to get her diamond ring in the picture. For the caption, the Mint Swim designer posted a lyric from Jay Z and Beyoncé’s song “Bonnie and Clyde.”
She wrote: "But as soon as the show is over, she's right back to being my soldier. Cuz mami's a rider, and I'm a roller ... put us together, how they gone stop both us?" Michele added “#RoadToRecovery” and “#SuccessfulSurgery.”
The post was liked nearly 40,000 times by Michele’s 3.9 million followers. The update received hundreds of comments, too. While some fans praised the “BBWLA” star for supporting Scandrick, others criticized her for going back to him.
But their skepticism isn’t unwarranted. Last month, Scandrick, 28, issued a statement that he and Michele called off their engagement, even though only days before she had told paparazzi she was “practically married” already. He later issued an update to TMZ that said his statement was hasty, and he still loves Michele. A few weeks later, the stars rekindled once more.
While Michele is mending her relationship with her lover, the Cowboys might not heal as easily, NFL.com wrote. The athlete is the team’s most reliable cornerback. Now, they are left to depend on Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne.
“Basketball Wives LA” Season 4 airs Sundays on VH1 at 8 p.m. EDT.
