Draymond Green Makes Shocking Warriors Admission: 'I'm Playing Terrible'
KEY POINTS
- The Golden State Warriors have lost four of their last five games
- Draymond Green criticizes his own performance
- There's no date yet for Steph Curry's return
Draymond Green certainly doesn’t like what’s going on with his game heading into the end of the regular season.
The Golden State Warriors suffered another tough loss to the Washington Wizards on Sunday, March 27 at Capital One Arena.
The Dubs have now lost four of their last five games as they try to endure the remainder of the regular season without their talisman in Stephen Curry.
They failed to secure a win and lost 123-115 to the home team.
Speaking to the media after the game, veteran power forward Green--who finished the game with seven points, six assists and five rebounds--heavily criticized his own performance.
"I feel terrible," Green told reporters, including NBC Sports. "I'm healthy, but I feel terrible. But it will come. I'm playing terrible.”
Green further confessed that he feels like instead of being one of the key figures in the team, the Warriors “get worse” whenever he’s on the floor.
"I've never really been on a team that gets worse when I'm on the floor and that's kind of where we are right now,” the four-time NBA All-Star assessed. “Some things I can correct, some things will come with time. Just kind of what it is but we're definitely worse when I'm on the floor, that's for sure."
This wasn’t the first time Green voiced his frustrations over the Warriors’ recent run.
When the Dubs lost to the Orlando Magic 94-90 on Tuesday, March 22, the 32-year-old reckoned that if they can’t beat a lower-seeded team, chances are they won’t be able to match up with great teams.
"No disrespect to the Orlando Magic, but they are one of the worst teams in the league,” he explained. “And we can't match up with them. And if you can't match up with them, you're definitely not going to do it against the great teams. I wouldn't necessarily say it's a concern, but that's what's happening.”
“I wouldn't necessarily say it's a concern, but that's what's happening,” he added. “I don't doubt that we can fix it, but if we're going to win some games then it's got to be fixed.”
The Warriors will try to win the last five games of the regular season with the next three games will be against Western Conference giants, Phoenix Suns, Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz.
As for Curry, there is no specific timeframe yet for his badly needed return.
