  • Draymond Green "likes" a twitter post that criticized Steph Curry's wife
  • Green and Curry won all their three championships together
  • Green calls Curry as the leader in Golden State

With just a simple click, Draymond Green has sparked a fuss that speculates him having a possible falling out with Stephen Curry. Green’s controversial social media activity did not escape the eyes of a fan as the Warriors' defensive forward was caught “liking” a post on Twitter which apparently criticized Curry’s wife, Ayesha.

In the said post, a certain Syphlect wrote: “Sure, patronize other women for showing skin to men that aren’t your husband. Then go on a mad weight loss journey just so you can show off what you were hating on before? Lol, pathetic.”

The tweet ended with a hashtag #AyeshaCurry and gained a fair number of retweets and likes, including Green’s.

Ashish Mathur of Clutch Points shared the back story that perhaps spurred the disputed tweet:

“For those who are confused, Ayesha Curry used to tweet about women who were showing too much skin for other men. However, after she lost her baby weight, Ayesha posted pictures on Instagram that looked a lot like the pictures she used to slander.”

Drawing a conclusion as to whether the former Defensive Player of the Year purposely liked the post is tough to do. But regardless of the intention, such simple activity has triggered some unwanted anxiety amongst Warriors fans.

Bay Area supporters could not fathom the thought that two of their most beloved players may be in the middle of a spat. After all, Curry and Green have steered one of the most dominant dynasties in league history together.

Just last May, Green raved about his superstar teammate anew and called him the “leader” in Golden State.

“The leader of our team is Steph,” Green told former WNBA star Candace Parker on Instagram Live, via NBC Sports. “He is extremely selfless, it’s never about ‘what can I do for Steph?’ Or how Steph feels or ‘Can I get this shot?' Obviously yes, he’s gonna shoot the ball. But his worry is always everyone else, and it’s never ‘me, me me.’

“When your leader is like that, everyone else, you have to fall in line. Not only did it shape our team, but it shaped the entire organization.”

Curry and Green each have three championships together, including the back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018. During their reign as a supreme dynasty in the NBA, Green was named All-Star thrice while Curry was hailed six times. The latter also seized back-to-back MVP awards in 2015 and 2016 as the former Michigan State bruiser created his identity as one of the best defenders in the league by being named to the All-Defensive team for five straight years.
