‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Phil Robertson Opens Up About His Daughter From Past Affair

Phil Robertson and his sons talked about his daughter from a past affair.

On Thursday (May 28), Phil and his children Al, Jase, Jep and Willie revealed a surprising fact about their family in the “Unashamed” podcast.They shared that the “Duck Dynasty” patriarch, who was known for being deeply religious, had an affair over four decades ago, and he had a daughter from that affair.

Al shared that he received a letter from a woman named Phyliss, 45, claiming to be his sister. Initially, he didn’t believe it because the woman was born after their dad become a Christian in the 1970s.

Phil had been honest about his past. He confessed that he was a philanderer before finding Jesus. However, when Al realized that his alleged sister was conceived before Phil devoted himself to the church, he reconsidered the thought of it.

“Well once we get into that and start looking at it a little more deeply, I'm like, 'Oh woah, woah... there might be something to this,'” Al said.

“We both concluded, this is not one of those frivolous things we've got. We had to pursue it.”

He realized that the woman was looking for her father and whether their dad was that man or not, she deserved to know the truth.

Al approached his parents and Phil agreed to take a DNA test. The results showed a “99.9 percent match.” Phil interjected that when he learned about the results, he ordered his son to bring the woman, so they could meet each other.

“We know that in all things — in all things — even sin, God works for the good of those who love him who have been called according to his purpose,” Phil said referencing Romans 8:28.

Phil and his other children have already met Phyliss. They teased that fans would see her in the upcoming episode of “Duck Dynasty.”

“It's a pretty cool explanation of redemption, reconciliation, love,” Phil added.

“As it turns out, 45 years, you have a daughter that you don't know about, and she has a father she doesn't know about. 45 years that doesn't sound like very long but you say, that's a while. So finally, after all those years, we come together.”

Jep added that it was “super awesome” to meet Phyliss especially that he had always wanted to have a sister.

“It was like a dream come true,” Jep said.

In April, there was a shooting incident at Willie’s estate. Sadie Robertson told fans that they were all okay and grateful that no one was hurt especially that one bullet flew through his brother’s window.
