Dunkin’ Donuts's New Breakfast Sandwich Uses Donuts As Its Bread [PHOTO, VIDEO]
Can’t decide if you want a breakfast sandwich or a donut to start your day? Well, you’re in luck if you live in eastern Massachusetts where Dunkin’ Donuts is selling a new morning menu item at only a few locations.
It’s a bacon-and-egg sandwich, not with a bagel or English muffin as its bread, but features, of course, donuts as the pieces holding the sandwich together.
"A few select Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in eastern Massachusetts are currently carrying a Glazed Donut Breakfast Sandwich," Lindsay Harrington, public relations manager for Dunkin' Brands, wrote in an email to Yahoo Shine. "The sandwich features bacon and a pepper fried egg on a glazed yeast ring donut."
While the glazed donut breakfast sandwich isn’t available nationwide, Yahoo Shine points out some other options. There’s McDonald’s McGriddles breakfast sandwiches that use warm pancake patties or Jack in The Box’s use of waffles for a similar sandwich.
Candice Choi, of the Associated Press, tweeted a photo of the new sandwich, soliciting a mix of responses, ranging from “ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww” to “Ummmm, YES PLEASE!!”
So if you have a hankering for that sweet and salty combination, you might have to wait a bit longer until Dunkin’ Donuts decides whether or not to go nationwide with the exclusive sandwich.
Oh, and that comes with a side of hash browns.
