Dwayne Johnson Admits Vin Diesel Jokes 'Play Great' in His Movies [Video]
The feud between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel is nothing new. Now, it seems like jokes about Diesel have found their way to Johnson's movie too.
A joke on Diesel in Johnson's latest movie “Red Notice” has gotten everyone’s attention, and when asked about the same the latter admitted they “play great.”
Johnson appeared on Sirius XM's "The Jess Cagle Show" on Tuesday, where he admitted his Netflix heist thriller features a playful dig at Diesel, with whom he had publicly feuded after the two starred in multiple "Fast & Furious" films together.
During the episode, Cagle brought up the joke, and said he was worried it would “set everything off again.” But, the “Jumanji” laughed it off, and insisted the “Red Notice” bit was not his idea.
"People were asking me about that and they just, they find a way, and you know, what's interesting is, you know, these Vin Diesel jokes, which play great by the way to the audience, which is always a good thing... because it's really, it's all about them."
He continued, "But, people think these jokes come from me and they actually don't. I mean, you'd be surprised at how many people come to me with 'I got a great one.' I'm like 'okay.' 'I got another great Vin Diesel joke.' 'I'm sure you do.' Always funny."
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, this jab appears in the action flick in a scene where the cast Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot and Johnson joke about Diesel auditioning for a role in the beloved musical “Cats”
The reports of the feud between them began in 2016 during the production of the eighth installment of the "Fast & Furious" series. An Instagram post by Johnson -- which has since been deleted -- had referred to some of his colleagues as “candy asses,” and people were quick to assume he was talking about Diesel.
However, everything seems to be in the past now, as Johnson revealed last month he and Diesel spoke recently about their checkered relationship, and came to some sort of understanding that they are on “two separate ends of the spectrum,” Vanity Fair reported.
