It looks like Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt fans are in for a treat as the duo is all set to team-up for a new superhero movie — "Ball and Chain." Johnson and Blunt first collaborated on the epic adventure film Jungle Cruise. While the project has been put on hold in studios and Netflix due to the pandemic, the deal of distribution is still on the board.

Similar to Marvel films and other superhero movies, “Ball and Chain” is an adaptation of a comic from the 90s called "Scott Lobdell." Lobdell is an American comic book writer who has worked on projects such as the X-Men series in the 90s and DC as well in the 2010s.

“Ball and Chain” will be penned by Oscar nominee Emily V. Gordon. The story revolves around a married couple that is going through a disturbed relationship while their superpowers work only when they are together.

Besides playing the married couple in this flick, Blunt and Johnson are producing this film under Johnson's Seven Bucks company. The President of the company Hiram Garcia will help the process of producing along with Dany Garcia and Kevin Misher.

Slated to release under Disney's banner, the upcoming "Jungle Cruise" movie will make an exciting take from another superhero film reminiscent of the 90s. Originally, the film was scheduled for a July 24 release but due to coronavirus pandemic, the release has been pushed to July 30, 2021.

Johnson seems unstoppable with his projects as he also appear in “Red Notice” movie, an action-comedy with Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot for Netflix. Blunt, on the other hand, will make an appearance opposite her husband, John Krasinski in “A Quiet Place Part II.” Krasinski has also directed this movie and Paramount originally had plans to release it last March 18 but pushed it back to Sept. 4 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
