  • He thanked the DC FanDome for the love and hype over "Black Adam"

Dwayne Johnson has been teasing "Black Adam" on Instagram and how his character would change the DC Universe over the past several months. Now, he gave fans a little more insight into his titular antihero character during the DC FanDome.

During the Saturday panel for the upcoming DC superhero flick, Johnson explained just how significant Black Adam's arrival is, Entertainment Tonight reported.

"As we all know, superheroes have to exhibit a little bit of restraint in taking care of the bad guys," Johnson said.

"[Black Adam] does not practice restraint," he continued. "That combination makes him explosive, very dangerous and very likable, at least to me. He's a ruthless keeper of justice. He is the judge, the jury and executioner.”

Noah Centineo, whose addition to the "Black Adam" cast was announced in July, also opened up about his character, Atom Smasher, who can control his molecular structure with the ability to manipulate his size, strength and durability.

"Al — his real name, Al Rothstein — really has something to prove," Centineo said. "His grandfather was kind of a villain."

Centineo explained what he likes most about playing Atom Smasher, saying, "he goes through this transformation... Because this is his first mission, it's this journey that he goes on of what it means to be a superhero. And I don't mind being the size of the Empire State Building.”

Prior to the DC FanDome, Johnson had been teasing the event on social media, reminding everyone of how Black Adam would change the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe.

"The hierarchy of power in the DC UNIVERSE is about to change. BLACK ADAM arrives TOMORROW at #DCFanDome," Johnson said in one post.

"Personally, I salute my Warner Bros & DC partners for creating this historic opportunity for fans to absorb our entire DC UNIVERSE while we all continue to manage the challenges of COVID. Well done. The man in black is coming to crush them all. #BLACKADAM," he added.

The Rock also shared a clip of "Black Adam" on Instagram, the one-minute video showing a brief background on his character. Black Adam was once a slave and became free after 5,000 years, determined to make sure no one stops him ever again

Johnson ended the post by thanking the DC FanDome for the love and hype for the "Black Adam" panel. He also acknowledged the entire team whose members are committed to and passionate about delivering a story that DC Universe fans will surely love.
