Dwayne Johnson Returns To Store Where He Shoplifted: Watch What He Did
Dwayne Johnson is giving back to society in more ways than one. The 50-year-old actor returned to the store where he used to steal candy as a kid and made amends with the owner.
Johnson shared a video Monday on Instagram, revealing that when he was 14, he used to visit a 7-Eleven store daily and steal a king-size Snicker bar, because he couldn't afford it, for almost a year. The actor recalled that those candy bars were his pre-workout meal before heading to the gym.
In the video, the actor can be seen entering the store and buying all the Snickers in the store. He also paid the bill for a few other customers in the store and made a bill of $298.
Johnson left all the snickers at the counter, and told the person behind the desk, "If someone looks like they are stealing snickers just give them these so they don't have to steal."
The actor mentioned in the caption of the post that when he used to steal those snickers, there was the same clerk every day who simply looked the other way and never busted him.
"I've exercised a few big demons over the years (I still have a few left;) so I know this one seems VERY SILLY, but every time I come back home to Hawaii and drive by 7-11," he said, "I always knew I needed to go in and clean out every Snickers bar they had - the right way."
He added, "We can't change the past and some of the dumb stuff we may have done, but every once in a while, we can add a little redeeming grace note to that situation — and maybe put a big smile on some stranger's faces."
The "Black Adam" star shared another post on Instagram the same day, featuring a series of photos, showing him buying the snickers, and clicking photos with the staff and other customers at the store.
On the work front, Johnson will be next seen in the movie, "Red One" as Callum Drift. He will also feature in the sequels of "Red Notice," "San Andreas" and "Jungle Cruise." Fans will also get to see Johnson playing King Kamehameha in the movie, titled "The King."
