Dwight Howard Lakers Press Conference: Live Stream Online of D12’s Introduction To Los Angeles
The Lakers are ready to introduce Dwight Howard as the newest member of their team.
Just a few hours after the trade was completed, Los Angeles is preparing to hold a press conference, introducing the center. L.A. general manager Mitch Kupchak, along with Howard, will meet the media to discuss the move.
The press conference is scheduled to be held at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. You can watch the news conference live on ESPNews. If you can't get to a television, you can listen to a free live stream of the event by clicking here.
Howard comes to the Lakers after months of speculation and rumors that he'd be dealt. Before last season started, there were rumors that the All-Star would be on his way to L.A. for a package surrounding Andrew Bynum or Pau Gasol.
After Howard opted in to the final year of his deal, it was thought that he would at least start the 2012-13 season with the Magic. However, he told the organization at the beginning of the offseason that he wanted to be traded.
The big man made it known that he only wanted to go to Brooklyn. After a potential deal with the Nets fell through, the Lakers became his most likely destination.
L.A. traded Bynum in a four-team deal that included both the Nuggets and 76ers. It was first reported that Los Angeles would have to give up Pau Gasol, as well as Bynum, but the Lakers managed to hold onto their seven-footer.
While Howard has made it known that he won't sign a contract extension during the season, it's believed that he will stay in L.A. once his deal runs out.
If Howard decides to leave after one season, Dallas is probably his most likely landing spot.
