'DWTS' Predictions: Which Season 25 Pair Will Be Eliminated In Week 8?
Following a shocking and unexpected double elimination that took place on Halloween night, which saw two top performing teams taken out of the "Dancing With the Stars" competition, the remaining six teams are more focused than ever as the race to the semifinals grows closer. However, one more team will be forced to say goodbye at the end of Week 8.
Week 8 of the ABC competition will see the teams joining up with former celebrities who competed on the show—five of whom won Mirrorballs and one who placed second—for trio dances, in addition to their individual routines. However, no matter how much their dances impress this week, one of them will be forced out and eliminated when their scores from Week 7 and the viewer votes are combined. Though the eliminations of Vanessa Lachey and Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev, both teams who were near the front of the pack, prove that anyone could be going home and no one is truly safe, even with high scores, certain teams seem most at risk of potential elimination than others.
When scores from Week 7 are factored in, two teams in particular could find themselves on the chopping block in Week 8. Though times previously in jeopardy don't necessarily mean one team is more likely to be eliminated than another (neither Vanessa nor Nikki had previously been in jeopardy before their eliminations), those, as well as their position on the leaderboard seem to put Terrell and Cheryl most at risk of elimination in Week 8.
Not only has Team Getcha Popcron been in jeopardy in some capacity for two weeks in a row on the competition, but they also fell on the bottom of the leaderboard twice during Season 7. Not only did they receive the lowest judges' scores for their individual dance, receiving 25/30 points for their Tango, but they were still on the bottom after the scores for the Team Dance were added, keeping them at only 49 points out of a possible 60. With Frankie and Witney topping the leaderboard at two perfect scores, it is enough of a gap between scores to potentially make a difference, and it could all be a sign that Terrel and Cheryl are going to have their last dances.
However, another team is also potentially in jeopardy that has never seen themselves in such a position before. Though their individual score was still high, earning them 27 points out of 30 for a Paso Doble, Lindsey and Mark fell second to the bottom on the overall leaderboard when the team dance was added to their score, with only 51 points total out of 60.
In addition to their less than favorable position for the first time on the leaderboard, Lindsey has been dealing with a painful rib injury that could potentially take her out of the competition. If she chooses not to withdraw, she and Mark will be limited on some of the choreography they can perform due to her pain, and that will likely begin to affect their scores more. In addition, if fans want Lindsey to stop feeling pain, they could have opted out of voting overall, or switched and voted for another team, just to ensure she stayed healthy by being kicked out of the competition. Though it would be devastating to see one of the teams that has always been at the top of the leaderboard go, there is a possibility it could happen.
"Dancing With the Stars" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
