‘DWTS’ Predictions: Which Season 30 Pairs Will Be Eliminated After ‘Janet Jackson’ Night?
Eight teams are left in the competition will have a chance to strut their stuff for the judges and audiences during individual dance rounds and dance-offs on “Janet Jackson Night” during Season 30 of “Dancing With the Stars.” However, before the night comes to an end, two teams will be hanging up their dancing shoes and saying goodbye following a double elimination—just one week shy of semi-finals.
Week eight will see the remaining teams performing a solo Cha-Cha, Samba, Salsa, Rumba or more, as well as perform in a dance-off round to get an extra two points from the judges. Those points could prove to be crucial when it comes to determining which teams are in the bottom, and which will have to say goodbye.
While stars like Jimmie Allen and Emma Slater, Melora Hardin and Artem Chigvintsev and Olivia Jade and Val Chmerkovskiy are all likely to be safe after topping the leaderboard on Week 7, four other teams could find themselves potentially performing their final dances.
In a surprising twist at the end of “Queen” night, Jojo Siwa and Jenna Johnson, who have been racking up the highest scores from the judges all season, found themselves in the Bottom Two alongside The Miz and Witney Carson. Because of their performance caliber, the judges saved the show’s first same-sex dance team from elimination, but if the fans aren’t there like everyone thought for the two, another trip to the bottom could prove to be detrimental to their future on the show. However, while a double elimination could put them at risk, being that they tend to score so highly with the judges, they will likely be guaranteed to still have a spot in the semifinals.
Amanda Kloots and Alan Bersten are another team that could be seeing their time on the show start coming to an end, after they fell to the bottom of the judges’ leaderboard for the first time in Week 6. After harsh critiques from the judges last week, if there isn’t improvement this one and they get a poor turnout in viewer votes as well, they could find themselves just falling short.
Suni Lee and Sasha Farber also received lower scores that landed them at the bottom of the judges’ leaderboard when it came to total scores in Week 7, one week after they also found themselves in the Bottom Two. While viewers and their scores may have pushed them through to the quarterfinals, if they still fail to pull out a performance that is on par with some of their remaining competitors, they could wind up once again in the Bottom Two—and as a result--out of the competition.
However, the couple that seems most likely to find themselves eliminated, and without the benefit of the judges’ save, is Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach. While the pair haven’t landed in the Bottom Two yet with viewer votes, of the remaining teams, they have among the lowest average scores overall. If they once again fail to impress the judges and wind up at the bottom of the leaderboard, they will certainly be one of the teams going home.
“Dancing With the Stars” will air on Monday, Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
