‘DWTS’ Winner Rashad Jennings Announces Retirement From NFL: ‘I Feel Good’
Rashad Jennings just announced his retirement from the football field.
The NFL pro said that he will no longer be participating in any football games. He will no longer be part of the New York Giants as well after playing with the team for the past three years.
“I feel good, I really do. People say, ‘All good things must come to an end,’ but that’s true – only for great things to begin. I think that’s where I’m at in life and I look forward to all the other things that I’ll be involved in. It’s all smiles this way,” he told Entertainment Tonight.
The 32-year-old athlete played for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2009 to 2012 before signing with the Oakland Rangers in 2013. After an entire season, he became a player for the Giants.
“I’m happy to say that I made it to the playoffs and actually played in the playoff game. There’s many guys that have had a career and never played in the playoffs. It’s not anything that’s given. Obviously everyone wants to go and win a Super Bowl. But I definitely always wanted to see what that atmosphere felt like, in a playoff game, and I finally got it, and it was my last game,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jennings will only be retiring from the football field, but the athlete is expected to pursue other things. He said that joining and winning “Dancing With the Stars” Season 24 opened so many opportunities for him.
After winning in May of this year, Jennings decided to pursue ballroom dancing and has already taught his first class.
“Now, dance is a part of me. Who would have thought? I taught my first dance class recently and it was really fun. I actually thought about putting together some dance workout videos. I am excited to see what else is going to happen like that in life, that I don’t know what is around the corner,” he said.
In 2018, there will be an All-Athlete competition in “DWTS.” Jennings said that he doesn’t think he will be allowed to compete, but he hopes to be part of the spring season in some way.
