Dwyane Wade’s wife Gabrielle Union wasn’t a fan of Ayesha’s romance with Stephen Curry at the start.
The “L.A.’s Finest” star and the former NBA player caught up with the Currys on Instagram Live. During their conversation, Union recalled telling Ayesha to break up with the Golden State Warriors superstar back in the day, and this made the four of them laugh.
“I was like, ‘You guys, the likelihood of this working out is very low and you should just break up now and have sex with other people,” Union said while laughing. “I used a little bit more different language, but is that not what I told y'all both?”
Ayesha replied and reminded Union how the latter asked her about her age. The couples continued to laugh while Union responded with, “Precisely, because I was a THOT.”
Although the subject didn’t offend the Currys who are happily married, Wade apologized to the couple.
“I apologize on behalf of the Wade family,” he said and jokingly added, “That's not who we are anymore.”
Union went on and said that she’s happy Ayesha and Curry did not break up. She even praised how amazing they are now as a family.
“Listen, you guys are unicorns. Like, literally, there are very, very few people that I have met who have been consistent,” Union said. “I've known you guys well over a decade and there are a lot of people who talk about faith and there's a lot of people who talk about moving the culture forward, but something isn't real somewhere. And when people are like, ‘Are they real?' And I'm like, 'yes!”
According to Union, Ayesha and Curry are very consistent from the very first time she met them. Whenever she speaks with them or randomly texts Ayesha, Union would always sense the couple’s consistency.
“You guys have been consistent and I wish more people understood that it is possible to be people of faith and also wanting to move the culture forward. Those two things don't have to exist separately and you guys do a beautiful job of being exactly who you claim to be,” she added.
The GSW player said that they are “very happy and content” with their family. In February, Curry shared a risque photo of him and his wife. In the snap, the point guard goes shirtless as he carries Ayesha, who is rocking a green bikini. Ayesha is also seen licking Curry’s forehead in the snap.
