Dwyane Wade And Gabrielle Union Daughter: What Does Baby Name Mean?

A few days after Dwyane Wade and wife Gabrielle Union shocked their Instagram followers by revealing they added a baby girl to their family, the couple further surprised their fans by sharing their daughter’s name.

On Thursday, Wade posted a photo of himself seated in a chair, showing off some of the new ink he added to his collection of tattoos. However, the newest addition also happened to reveal the name of his baby girl as Kaavia James.

“#TBT Goes back to that one night in China when I decided to get my daughters name tattooed on me. Kaavia James Union Wade! #paternityleave,” the Miami Heat player wrote in the caption.

According to Moon Astro, the name is Indian in origin and carries a variety of meanings including full of imagination and lines of poetry. Meanwhile, Name.org suggests the moniker means a work of art.

The name also holds a great amount of responsibility, according to Kabalarian Philosophy. Those named Kaavia are expected to help others in need, despite the inconvenience or hardship it may create for themselves.

Wade and Union first announced the news about their baby girl’s arrival on Instagram by sharing similar sentimental posts.

“We are sleepless and delirious but so excited to share that our miracle baby arrived last night via surrogate and 11/7 will forever be etched in our hearts as the most loveliest of all the lovely days. Welcome to the party sweet girl,” the actress wrote.

Union and Wade used a surrogate to expand their family after the “Being Mary Jane” star suffered more than eight miscarriages. The couple, who married in 2014, initially tried to conceive with the help of IVF treatments but were not successful.

Kaavia is the first child for Union and the fourth for Wade, who is already a father to sons Zaire, Xavier and Zion from previous relationships.
