Dylan O'Brien Says He's 'Not Closed To Anything' Amid 'Nightwing' Casting Rumors
Amid speculations that Dylan O'Brien is going to play the superhero Nightwing, the 30-year-old actor has revealed he's "not closed to anything" and would like to entertain "everything" that comes his way.
"In the way that I want to approach my career, I just don't think it would benefit what I want to do, nor do I think it's interesting to me. Why can't I be disinterested in those things?" O'Brien told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview that came out Wednesday. "It's just not what I'm into, and it's not what I'm interested in doing with my career and job."
The actor went on to share that he is open to the opportunities that come his way, hinting that he wouldn't turn down superhero Nightwing's role if offered to him.
"I'm also not closed to anything," he explained. "I would entertain everything. But also, those things are a big life change as well. I don't think people think about that a lot. It's a really big commitment. So all that stuff goes into it."
The "Maze Runner" star further noted that he's really not part of the superhero movie, and he's been honest about it. However, he is also aware that fans think he's lying, to the point it has become a "game" now.
"It is the game now, and I can't believe how much I talk about it," he said. "Even when I answer honestly, everyone is like, 'Wow, watching Dylan lie about this is hilarious. He's obviously Nightwing.' And I'm just like, 'This is crazy.' (Laughs.) So I have literally heard nothing about it."
"It's not a real thing," he concluded. "It's just funny how it all happens, and yes, it seems to only happen with these superhero things."
It is not the first time the actor has addressed rumors about him portraying Nightwing, who is also known as Dick Grayson. He also opened up about it in an interview on "Post Cred Pod" earlier this month.
"I'm aware of it [rumors], I've seen a lot of it," he said, according to The Direct. "I've not heard anything about it on the professional side, but it's cool that it made its way to me, to the point where I asked my manager 'Is this even an actual thing?'"
O'Brien, who rose to popularity for his portrayal of Stiles Stilinski on MTV's supernatural drama series "Teen Wolf" from 2011 to 2017, will be next seen in the movies "Not Okay," "Maximum Truth" and "The Vanishings at Caddo Lake."
