Eagles vs. Saints Injury Update: Will Carson Wentz, New Orleans Offensive Line Be Healthy?

If the New Orleans Saints want to host the NFC Championship Game, they will need to get past the Philadelphia Eagles’ ferocious pass rush, potentially without a healthy offensive line. The Saints’ Wednesday injury report had multiple starting linemen on it, which could leave quarterback Drew Brees without adequate protection.

Starting left tackle Terron Armstead (pectoral) and starting right tackle Ryan Ramczyk (knee) were both limited in practice on Wednesday. Additionally, starting guards Andrus Peat (hand) and Larry Warford (knee) were also limited, leaving center Max Unger as the only starting lineman not on the injury report.

If one of the tackles could not play, backup Jermon Bushrod (hamstring) was also limited. On defense, starting defensive end Alex Okafor (knee) was also limited.

For the Eagles, starting defensive end Michael Bennett (foot) was held out of practice, as was quarterback Carson Wentz (back). Wentz did not play in the last three games of the regular season or in the wild card round, but backup Nick Foles won all four of those starts.

Even though it seems like Foles will be the starter for as long as the Eagles last in the postseason, Wentz has not been put on injured reserve yet.

Aside from that, other noteworthy names on the Eagles’ injury report included D.J. Alexander (hamstring), Alshon Jeffery (ribs), Jason Peters (quadricep), Golden Tate (knee) and Mike Wallace (ankle). All five of those players were limited in practice.

Jeffery and Wallace are both big-play threats for the Eagles when healthy, though Wallace has yet to record any stats this season. Peters kept Bears pass rusher Khalil Mack in check in the wild card round, while Tate caught the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter.
