Sheeran's tickets were in high demand, making the competition stiff for nabbing tickets. However, several Sheerios ran into complications when purchasing tickets on Ticketmaster UK, causing their screens to remain on the "searching...sit tight" page for a lengthy period of time.
"Have Ed Sheeran tickets sold out???? Been looking at this screen forever! #EdSheeran #edsheerantickets," one user wrote in a tweet, documenting her experience with a video.
Ticketmaster UK clarified with fans looking to purchase tickets that they need to be patient, instructing them to not refresh their pages because the screen should display "searching...sit tight," giving Sheerios the best seats possible. Ticketmaster UK also provided tips for fans to secure tickets the night before the sale, advising them to "use a desktop computer to make your booking" and to "make sure your payment details and delivery address are up to date."
"Hi guys! If this is on your screen, don't worry, it's a virtual queue to make sure fans get tickets fairly," Ticketmaster UK wrote in a tweet, adding a thumbs up emoji and a picture of their virtual queue screen.
The ticket selling website then realized that there was a problem with their system, which they later addressed fans on Twitter to illustrate their intentions to resolve the server error. Ticketmaster UK initially tweeted: "NEWS: We’re working on getting you more tickets for @EdSheeran, so be patient and stay close. #dividetour." However, they continued to update consumers of their progress the moment news broke.
