Ed Sheeran’s World Tour Cancelled Following Injury; New Schedules Teased
Ed Sheeran recently announced the cancellation of some of his concerts in Asia after suffering from two fractures following a bicycle accident.
On Tuesday, the “Shape of You” singer shared a photo of his right arm in a black cast and said that a recent visit to his doctor confirmed that he suffered from two injuries. In his lengthy caption, Sheeran apologized to his fans in Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Taipei and Hong Kong and said that his scheduled performances have been canceled.
Sheeran is still unable to give his fans updated show schedules because he needs to recover first from his injuries. His Divide Tour will go on as scheduled in other parts of Southeast Asia such as the Philippines on Nov. 7, Indonesia on Nov. 9, Singapore on Nov. 11 and 12, Malaysia on Nov. 14 and Thailand on Nov. 16. All tickets for the following concerts are already sold out.
The Sun reported on Monday that Sheeran was riding his bicycle in London when he was hit by a car. However, this statement has not yet been confirmed by Sheeran or his rep until today. On his Instagram account, the singer first uploaded a photo of his upper body showing off the cast on his right arm and left wrist.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time that Sheeran got into an accident. Reports swirled earlier last year that Princess Beatrice slashed his face with a sword. But during his appearance on “The Graham Norton Show,” Sheeran refused to indirectly comment on the incident but said, “I can’t talk about it. I don’t know what will happen if I do!”
In November, The Sun reported that the incident took place at the Royal Lodge in Windsor. Princess Beatrice allegedly pretended to knight James Blunt, but did not realize that Sheeran was standing close to him.
“I have no idea how it came out as there weren’t a lot of people there that night. For two weeks after, I had a huge gash on my face and would tell people I fell and then suddenly, the story came out,” he told BBC One.
