Eddie Murphy Welcomes 10th Child, Pays Tribute To Dead Brother
Eddie Murphy has just welcomed his tenth child. His name is Max Charles Murphy and he was born on Nov. 30.
This is Murphy’s second child with fianceé Paige Butcher. Max’s biological sister, Izzy Oona, is two years old.
Max reportedly measures 19 inches long and weighs 6 lbs. and 11 oz. Murphy’s rep told People that both mother and son are doing well.
Max’s middle name, Charles, is an homage to Murphy’s brother, Charlie Murphy, who died of leukemia last year, CNN has learned.
Aside from Max, Murphy has other kids with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell Murphy. They are Miles Mitchell, 25; Bria, 28; Shayne Audra, 23; Zola Ivy, 18; and Bella Zahra, 16.
The actor also has a 29-year-old son named Eric with Paulette McNeely. Plus, he has a 28-year-old son named Christian with ex-girlfriend Tamara Hood. Murphy also has an 11-year-old daughter named Angel Iris Murphy Brown with “America's Got Talent” judge and Spice Girls member Melanie “Mel B” Brown.
In December 2016, daughter Bria posted a photo of Murphy, Butcher and some of her siblings on her Instagram account.
Murphy and Butcher started dating in 2012. The 57-year-old actor and the 39-year-old model announced their second pregnancy in August, noting that they really wanted a younger sibling for Izzy, who was born on May 3, 2016.
Before Butcher, Murphy had a longtime relationship with Nicole Mitchell. They began dating after meeting at the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Awards show. They even got married on March 18, 1993 at The Plaza Hotel’s Grand Ballroom in New York City.
However, Mitchell filed for divorce in August 2005. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as grounds for divorce, which was finalized on April 17, 2006.
After Mitchell, Murphy dated Spice Girl member Melanie Brown. The singer got pregnant and claimed that the baby was Murphy’s, but he wasn’t quite convinced. A DNA test confirmed that Murphy was indeed the father of Brown’s kid.
