Edgar Ramirez, Jayson Blair, Golden Brooks Celebrate Angels On Earth With Gran Centenario
Gran Centenario, a tequila rich in heritage fueled by independence and tied to a proud culture, Thursday launched its Angels on Earth 2017 program in Hollywood. Hosted by heralded actor Edgar Ramirez of "Hands of Stone," "Zero Dark Thirty " and "Joy," the annual event celebrated those who give back.
Over the years, Gran Centenario and the “Angels on Earth” program have partnered with organizations across education, the arts and neighborhood groups to honor real life “Angels” and individuals for their acts of service. Past supporters have included Christina Milian, Ryan Phillippe and Brody Jenner.
A UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, Edgar Ramirez is a humanitarian actively involved in various charities, including He for She, a solidarity campaign for the advancement of women. Considered an “Angel” for his contributions, this year Edgar hosted the Angels on Earth 2017 kick-off event, which featured an array of real-life Angels.
The "real angels are those who make a difference in the lives of others, no matter how small the deed," said the award-winning actor as he took multiple photos with adoring guests.
Guests, including "Girlfriends" star Golden Brooks and Jayson Blair of "Whiplash" and "The New Normal," were encouraged to give back to the local community by simply bringing an unwrapped gift for those in need and sign up for a volunteer beach cleanup initiative with Heal the Bay on Feb. 18, giving them the chance to become "Angels" themselves. The intimate event was able to recruit 80 people to donate 1-3 hours of their time to the project.
At the conclusion of the event, all gifts were donated to the Latino Resource Organization, which assists less fortunate individuals, families and senior citizens. Representing Mexico’s independence from Spain, the Gran Centenario Angel of Victory is proudly displayed on every bottle and is a perfect symbol for the program. The shared actions of perseverance and commitment provide the opportunity to help those in need in the Los Angeles community while simultaneously honoring the heritage and the respect they all proudly share.
