'Elden Ring': 3 Strong Builds For Colosseum PvP
KEY POINTS
- Colosseums come in team-based and individual match modes
- Some builds shine better in team-based modes
- Spells and weapon arts add more versatility to any build
The Colosseums in the Lands Between are finally open in "Elden Ring," giving the Tarnished new venues to show their skills against each other in glorious PvP combat.
Here are three builds to consider using when fighting in these gladiator matches.
Strength – Aerial Greatsword
This trusty PvE build is surprisingly effective in PvP if players somehow manage to make their hits connect. It relies on heavily-boosted attacks to defeat enemies in a single, massive strike. However, its attacks are slow and easy to read, which means players will have to be extra diligent when it comes to baiting out rolls and other defensive maneuvers.
- Weapon: Heavy-infused Greatsword
- Ash: Royal Knight's Resolve
- Talismans: Claw, Bull-goat
- Armor: Any (high Poise preferred)
Jump attacks with the Greatsword are very slow and telegraphed. It's not as reliable in duels, but it can be fun to use in team-based modes.
Armor sets with high Poise will ultimately give this build more flexibility when it comes to 1v1s so long as players learn how to trade blows.
Arcane – Rivers of Blood Bleed Build
This build is the complete opposite of the Greatsword one. Instead of waiting for opportunities to one-shot targets, this one relies on speed and aggression to overwhelm foes with a barrage of strikes that eventually lead to massive blood loss.
- Weapon: Rivers of Blood katana
- Ash: Corpse Piler (default skill)
- Talisman: Lord of Blood's Exultation, Shard of Alexander
- Armor: Any light or medium set
Corpse Piler is great for punishing whiffed attacks or roll-spamming enemies. Keep an eye on the stamina meter as this skill can leave users exhausted and out of options when used recklessly. Make sure to mix in some regular attacks as well to keep enemies on their toes.
Intelligence – Moonveil Spellcaster
Despite its many nerfs, Moonveil is still a reliable PvP option, especially in team battles. Players who can adopt a flexible fighting style will find this katana to be incredibly versatile and be able to deal with melee and ranged threats alike.
- Weapon: Moonveil and Glintstone Staff
- Ash: Transient Moonlight (default skill)
- Talisman: Carian Filigreed Crest, Radagon Icon
- Armor: Any light or medium set, Twinsage Glintstone Crown
This is a hybrid build that uses regular Moonveil attacks as well as spells with the Glintstone Staff. Moonveil itself is more than capable of handling enemy players, but having offensive magic at the ready greatly increases the build's versatility. Spells such as Carian Piercer, Adula's Moonblade and Star Shower are all viable options.
