'Elden Ring': Where To Find Best Magic Sword In The Game Early
KEY POINTS
- The Sword of Night and Flame is a very powerful weapon hidden in Liurnia
- Players can get this sword without fighting anything
- The sword has a steep stat requirement
“Elden Ring’s” Faith-heavy starter builds are usually discouraged because of the lack of any strong Incantations and Faith-scaling weapons early in the game. However, there is a weapon so powerful that it can carry players well into the final areas of the game and beyond, and it can be obtained even before fighting the first real boss.
The Sword of Night and Flame is one of the legendary armaments in “Elden Ring” that possesses a powerful weapon art that can burn away mobs and melt tougher targets in seconds. One would think that a legendary sword would be hard to obtain, but it’s actually so easy that even a fresh character can get it right off the bat.
This sword is located inside a chest in Caria Manor at western Liurnia, and it can be obtained without killing a single enemy.
To get to Caria Manor without killing Margit or Godrick, head to Stormhill and go to the ruined bridge. There is a hidden path there that leads straight to Liurnia.
After reaching the first Site of Grace in Liurnia, head down into the lake and go to the western embankment that leads to Caria Manor. Ride toward the manor while dodging the magical barrages, sprint past the giant hands, and tag the Site of Grace inside the small chapel area on the upper floor of one of the buildings.
From this site, head outside and onto the walkways. Turn left on the first intersection and follow the path, then jump onto the nearby rooftop on the left side. Jump down again to a second rooftop, then go down the nearby ladder. Inside will be a room full of Glintstone Crystals and a chest containing the Sword of Night and Flame.
The weapon itself needs a whopping 24 INT and 24 FAI. To meet both of these requirements very early on, use the Astrologer or Prophet class, find a weapon that causes bleed and kill the giant dragon in Caelid for a huge number of Runes. Infuse any weapon with Blood or get the Morning Star in southern Limgrave, then hit the dragon’s tail until it bleeds out.
