Elephant Throws Soil At Man, Shoos Him Out Of Its Way [Watch]
A viral video of an elephant shooing away a man is making social media users chuckle. The gentle giant uses a simple tactic to make the man move out of his way.
In the clip shared on Twitter, the man could be seen standing on the side of a path, while the elephant slowly and gingerly walked up toward him. The man appeared to be completely oblivious to the massive creature approaching him from behind.
When the elephant was right behind the man, the animal threw soil at him with its leg. The man, who was caught off guard, was startled and immediately moved out of the elephant's way. The elephant then simply walked on, leaving the perplexed man behind.
It incident reportedly happened in Sri Lanka.
Many commented that it was the elephant's peculiar but gentle way of asking the man to move aside.
"Loved the way he asked the man to move aside. Couldn't have been more polite than this. Animals are truly amazing," one Twitter user said, while another added, "The look that elephant gives the guy as he's getting out of the way is priceless."
"This is why I like Elephants. They are amazing animal ... They take care of their sick and respects their elders and morns [sic] the loss of any of the Elephants that were in their group," one comment read.
One Twitter user also shared another video claiming that the same elephant was captured hopping over a fence.
Earlier this year, a video of two elephants stealing sugarcane from a truck went viral on social media. The video was originally shared online in February 2020. The two elephants were on two different trucks and when the vehicles stopped for a traffic signal, they helped themselves to some sugarcane that was loaded on a truck right next to them.
"Sugarcane is one of the favorite food of elephants," wrote Susanta Nanda, who shared the video on Twitter.
When one user asked whether the truck with sugarcane was deliberately parked next to the elephants to feed them, Nanda said it was "totally unintentional."
Although many were amused by the video, some questioned if it was safe to transport the elephants this way.
"Such a shame to see elephants on vehicles though," one user said.
