Elizabeth Olsen Finally Addresses Rumors She’s Dating Fellow Marvel Star Tom Hiddleston

What a wonderful story it would be, for two actors in the “Avengers” corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to get together romantically. However, that’s not the case for Elizabeth Olsen and Tom Hiddleston, with the 27-year-old actress putting to rest rumors that they’ve begun dating each other.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight to promote the film “I Saw the Light,” starring Hiddleston and herself, the Scarlet Witch actress was asked whether the speculation that has been circulating about them is true.

“Honestly, those kind of rumors, to me, that’s like a bunch of strangers saying a bunch of stuff that they don’t know about,” Olsen replied. “Some of them really care. That’s their own personal interest. It’s fine. Honestly, Tom and I, we work really well together. I would love to work with him again.”

There you have it, the actress is clearly hoping to convince the public that, despite their obvious chemistry on screen in the Hank Williams Sr. biopic, there was nothing going on between them other than a professional friendship once director Marc Abraham yelled, “Cut!”

Speculation that the actors are a couple started last May, but it cooled off a bit when Olsen addressed it in an interview with Refinery29 in which she mentioned that she’s been rumored to be involved with other MCU stars such as Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner.

“I mean, we definitely are friends, and we’ve known each other for about four years,” Olsen said. “And we happened to be at a restaurant at a wrong time having dinner. We all go out to dinner.”

Although both Hiddleston and Olsen are staples of the MCU, they’ve never actually appeared together in one of the “Avengers” flicks. The latest speculation about them focused on their starring roles in the movie based on the now-deceased country singer’s life story. Hiddleston played Hank Williams Sr., and Olsen played his first wife, Audrey Williams.

“Hank and Audrey clearly had such a passionate and volatile relationship,” the 35-year-old actor told E Online. “They loved each other so much, but they were unintentionally cruel to each other.”
