Ellen DeGeneres, Portia De Rossi Evacuate Their Pets Amid Thomas Fire

Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, recently evacuated all of their pets amid the Thomas Fire.

On Sunday, the “Ellen Show” host told her millions of followers on Twitter that their home in California was under threat of being burned. However, DeGeneres said that everyone in the community are doing their share to make sure that everyone, including pets, will be kept safe.

According to E! News, DeGeneres and de Rossi have several dogs and cats living with them in their $18.6 million beachfront house in Carpinteria. The location of their home is close to Santa Barbara. The county, as well as Ventura County, were affected by the recent California wildfires.
Thomas Fire began last Monday, Dec. 4 and by Sunday, Dec. 10, it had already damaged 173,000 acres and 750 structures. Approximately 160 other structures were also damaged. Also on Sunday, mandatory evacuations were ordered in DeGeneres and de Rossi’s area.
On Sunday morning, Thomas Fire was already 15 percent contained, but smoke can be seen even in Los Angeles. Last week, several other celebrities were evacuated from their homes to make sure that they will be safe.

Paris Hilton and all of her pets were successfully transported out of the reality TV star’s mansion. “Glee” alum Lea Michele stayed at her friend’s house throughout the duration of the fire. Rob Lowe also said that he was already packing his stuff so he and his family could evacuate their home.

An interactive map link of mandatory evacuation zones have also been uploaded on Santa Barbara County’s official Twitter page. A detailed view of the zones that are in danger may be viewed using Google Maps.
Montecito residents have also been requested to evacuate the premises of their homes. Celebrities who reside in the area include Oprah Winfrey, Drew Barrymore, Jeff Bridges, Patrick Stewart, Jane Seymor, Megyn Price and more.
Other Carpineteria residents include Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, as well as directors George Lucas and Joel Schumacher.
