Ellen DeGeneres, Portia De Rossi’s Crumbling Marriage: ‘They’re Leading Separate Lives’
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s marriage is reportedly crumbling, with sources claiming that the two are no longer living together.
On Friday, an insider disclosed to Radar Online that the daytime talk-show host, 61, hasn’t been herself lately because of her troubled marriage with the actress, 46. The insider added that de Rossi hasn’t visited “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” offices for weeks, implying that there’s really trouble in paradise for the two.
“Ellen has been in a slump lately. Portia has not been at the offices in like three weeks,” the insider said.
The same insider claimed that DeGeneres and de Rossi have already reached the breaking point in their relationship because Ellen hasn’t really talked about her wife for some time now.
Another source said that de Rossi is already at her wit’s end because their marriage problems have been piling up and they couldn’t keep them a secret any longer.
“As much as they try to deny any problems, it’s pretty clear they’re leading separate lives,” the source said.
The source, however, maintained that it’s unlikely for the celebrity couple to separate because “too much is at stake” and the actress needs the television personality just as the latter needs the former.
Gossip Cop has since debunked the report because it fails to give specific details about the couple’s marital problems. Moreover, the fact-checking website reached out to a source close to DeGeneres and de Rossi and the source called the report “ridiculous” and “false on every account.”
Last month, Radar and its sister tabloid magazine Star also made claims that DeGeneres and de Rossi are on the verge of breaking up. Both outlets reported that Ellen has been keen on ending their decade-long marriage.
DeGeneres allegedly bought a “multimillion-dollar home” where she was planning to stay after the breakup. The television host reportedly carried out certain tasks behind Portia’s back just so the latter wouldn’t have any idea of her plans.
However, both reports were also debunked by Gossip Cop. The fact-checking outlet pointed out inconsistencies in the reports and cited DeGeneres’ interview with the New York Times late last year to prove that her and de Rossi’s marriage are not at all on the rocks.
Meanwhile, DeGeneres is thinking of wrapping up her long-running talk show. In the interview, she revealed that her contract for the morning show is set to end summer 2020 and she’s still contemplating on whether she should renew the show or not.
