Ellen DeGeneres Quickly Sells Mansion She, Wife Portia De Rossi Bought From Adam Levine
KEY POINTS
- Ellen DeGeneres is selling the mansion she bought from Adam Levine
- She is asking for $53.5 million for the property after buying it for $45 million
- The celebrity couple is no stranger to buying and selling multimillion properties
Less than two years after purchasing a gated Beverly Hills estate from Adam Levine, Ellen DeGeneres has decided to list the property on the market.
The daytime talk show host started advertising the mansion on Monday. She is asking for $53.5 million after she and wife Portia de Rossi bought it for $45 million and splurged some money on renovations that were completed last year.
The celebrity couple listed the property with Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency. New York Post reached out to Rappaport for comment, but he was not immediately available.
If DeGeneres were to get her asking price, that would be about $8 million profit in just less than two years. However, it’s not clear how much she and de Rossi spent on the renovations.
Levine sold the property to DeGeneres in May 2019 after buying it for $34 million in March 2018 from “Will & Grace” creator Max Mutchnick. He and wife Behati Prinsloo spent a large sum updating the place and adding new amenities to it. As per Mansion Global, the Maroon 5 frontman had an asking price of $47.5 million but settled with $45 million.
The two-story mansion covers about 10,000 square feet and features a resort-style swimming pool, an indoor gym, a sunken tennis court, an outdoor kitchen with pizza oven, a built-in bar in the dining room and a separate guest house, according to TMZ.
The grand property houses five bedrooms and nine bathrooms. It also has a gourmet kitchen and a stunning media room. It should be noted that the master suite alone covers 2,000 square feet as it features a sitting room and an en-suite bath.
DeGeneres and de Rossi are no stranger to buying and selling multimillion houses. As of late, the two have several real estate investments, but it’s not clear if they are looking to buy another home in Beverly Hills.
In November, DeGeneres and de Rossi managed to sell their Bali-inspired mansion in Montecito, California for $33.3 million after purchasing it for $27 million in early 2019. A month prior, they bought a $49 million estate in the opulent California enclave, and they could also be selling that property soon.
