Disney + and the Tesla Theater. Why not?

In mid-September, Tesla introduced the new Version 10 update, which includes a lot of entertainment and performance options for Tesla electric vehicles (EVs). One of the more exciting features in the update is the new “Tesla Theater” that allows Tesla EV owners to view movies and stream videos from the inside the comfortable confines of their Teslas.

When he announced the release of Tesla Theater on July 27, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said movie enthusiasts among Tesla owners will soon be able to experience one of the best in-vehicle film viewing experiences in any motor vehicle. Tesla Theater will allow viewers to watch movies and television shows on Netflix, Hulu and Twitch, and stream videos from YouTube. There's also a Tesla Tutorials channel.

In reply to a query by the Tesla Owners of Massachusetts, Musk on Thursday tweeted "Coming soon." The group asked "@elonmusk can @tesla add @disneyplus to the #Tesla theatre in a future update? A lot of users would love to have this feature. @BenSullins."

The Walt Disney Company launched Disney + only on November 12. The subscription video on-demand streaming service has more than 10 million subscribers as of this writing, including more than a million it took away from market leader, Netflix Inc.

Disney + primarily distributes films and TV series produced by The Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney Television. The rich content comes from Disney's Marvel, National Geographic, Pixar, and Star Wars franchises. Original films and TV series are also distributed on Disney+.

Tesla Theater is included in the V10 Update. The feature allows Tesla EVs to turn into a mobile movie theater some informed sources say rivals the traditional movie theater experience.

Musk announced the idea in July and stated that the vehicle’s “comfy seats,” large dash screen, and optimal surround sound audio system would entice movie enthusiasts to watch films and TV shows from the comfort of their electric cars.

The V10 update focuses on providing owners with numerous other entertainment options. These options include “Caraoke,” I’m Feeling Lucky/Hungry, and the release of the in-car game Cuphead-Tesla Edition.

Tesla Theater goes with Camp Mode, a feature that permits comfortable overnight lodging inside a Tesla EV. When combined, Tesla Theater and Camp Mode together create a comfortable experience that might rival a night in a hotel room.
