Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Dogecoin co-creator Billy Markus made fun of Binance's founder CZ, Twitter bots, crypto influencers and scammers.
Billy Markus, the Dogecoin co-creator who uses the Twitter handle Sibetoshi Nakamoto, said over the weekend that he will dress up as the Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) on Halloween and ask why no one was talking about the crypto scam. Markus mentioned several Twitter bots that posed as the Binance executive and talked about crypto influencers.
"Imma dress up as @cz_binance for Halloween this year," the tweet read. "I'll start all conversations with "why isn't anyone talking about this??" pointing to a scam youtube uniswap video playing on my phone," Markus added.
Musk responded to the tweet with a Halloween joke and said, "Nice. I'm dressing up as a sink & knocking on random doors. Once they see me, they will have no choice but to let that sink in."
CZ, who got wind of the conversation later responded and asked Markus to talk about a YouTube video. The Dogecoin co-creator responded and said, "I LITERALLY AM."
Crypto scams are nothing new in the industry but despite the media reporting about them and key personalities asking investors to be extra cautious with their dealings online many still fall victim to these malicious actors. Twitter bots are another problem and one of Musk's reasons for backing out of his previous plan of purchasing the micro-blogging social media platform.
The tech billionaire has been calling out Twitter about bots, but the management seems to have no interest in solving the issue. Musk continues to be spammed by hacked non-verified and verified accounts on Twitter with other sharing links to crypto scams.
The DOGE Father has been the center of many crypto scams over the years with some malicious actors sharing his previous interviews on YouTube to lure investors into their trap.
Billy Markus, although he co-created Dogecoin, is no longer affiliated with the cryptocurrency. He is very active on Twitter, often trolling scammers and tweeting memes.
Musk previously said he still supports Dogecoin and will soon allow SpaceX, his spacecraft engineering company, to accept DOGE as a form of payment.
DOGE was trading down 2.04% at $0.0631 with a 24-hour volume of $357,591,067 as of 12:21 a.m. ET Monday, based on the latest data from CoinMarketCap.
