Elon Musk Welcomes First Baby With Grimes, Tesla CEO's Sixth Child

Tesla CEO Elon Musk and musician Grimes have reportedly welcomed their first child together.

Musk and girlfriend musician Grimes first seemingly announced the arrival of their first child on social media in a subtle way. In a post by Musk on Twitter, the 48-year-old Tesla CEO replied to a question about the couple’s firstborn in the comments section of a tweet by Clean Technica about EPA Testing for the Tesla Model S.

Although no further details were disclosed regarding the birth of the baby, Musk’s tweet definitely suggested the delivery of the couple’s child. “Mom and baby all good,” the SpaceX head wrote.

Musk and Grimes have reportedly been dating since 2018 and confirmed their relationship when they appeared as a couple at the annual Met Gala. Claire Boucher, 32, better known for her mononym Grimes, revealed that she was pregnant through a cryptic nude photo she posted on Instagram last January. The Canadian musician also confirmed that Musk was the father of her child during a March interview with Rolling Stone.

In the interview, the indie pop artist frankly shared her experiences with pregnancy and how she was coping with the impending parenthood. “When I first got pregnant, I tried to sleep at a reasonable time, and it actually made me feel really bad,” Grimes said.

The musician also quipped that her soon-to-be firstborn is nocturnal and only moves late at night, keeping the musician wide awake. “I might be about to ruin my life and career!” Grimes quipped, referring to her pregnancy.

And now welcoming the couple’s first child, Musk took to Twitter to share a photo of himself cradling their firstborn in the hospital early Tuesday morning. Musk’s post was also in response to a fan’s tweet urging the Tesla CEO to share a photo of him holding the newborn baby.

“A pic of you holding the baby would break the internet ... please share one,” the user wrote.

The newborn is Grimes’ first child with Musk, while the latter has five sons from his previous marriage with 47-year-old Canadian author Justine Wilson -- twins Griffin and Xavier and triplets Damian, Saxon and Kai.
