- Musk changed his Twitter bio to "Perfume Salesman"
- Burnt Hair has been branded as "The Essence of Repugnant Desire"
The Boring Company, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, has sold out its exclusive Burnt Hair perfume. Musk says 30,000 units of the limited edition perfume have been sold so far.
Musk, who changed his Twitter bio to "Perfume Salesman" earlier this month, branded his perfume as an "omnigender product" that can be purchased using DogeCoin, a cryptocurrency that has often been tied to the billionaire.
How has Burnt Hair been branded?
The Burnt Hair perfume, which has been branded as "The Essence of Repugnant Desire", will be shipped to customers early next year. The perfume was available for pre-order on the company's website.
The Boring Company website has published two reviews so far, without revealing the source of the inputs. The reviews read: "Stand out in a crowd! Get noticed as you walk through the airport," and "Just like leaning over a candle at the dinner table, but without all the hard work."
How much does it cost and what does it smell like?
While many customers still wait to get their hands on Musk's new perfume, entertainment website Elite Daily said the perfume smells like "the combination of charcoal, singed flesh, and barbecue."
The perfume costs $100 per unit. The product's quick sale added more than $2 million to Musk's net worth, according to Vogue. Musk is currently the richest man in the world.
What else?
The Boring Company is known to sell unconventional products that are often been promoted by Musk on Twitter. The company famously sold more than 20,000 units of a flamethrower in 2018. The product was named "NOT-A-FLAMETHROWER."
"The rumor that I'm secretly creating a zombie apocalypse to generate demand for flamethrowers is completely false," Musk wrote at the time. "The zombie apocalypse may not have arrived, but we are always preparing for the future," he said in a separate post.
"Please buy my perfume, so I can buy Twitter," Musk tweeted last week.
The Teslaand SpaceX boss is currently in the middle of a controversial deal to buy the microblogging platform. The Twitter-Musk saga has been full of twists, with the deal's revival being the latest. Musk recently revived his $44 billion deal to buy Twitter after backing out in July.
