Where will the mysteries of ABC’s “Emergence” take the show next? Tuesday’s episode is all about trust, concern and dealing with doubt.

In episode 3 last week, viewers — and Jo (Allison Tolman) and Benny (Owain Yeoman) — learned more about Piper (Alexa Swinton) and who or what she is, which is part(?) robot. This week’s new episode is all about the aftermath of finding out that shocking information.

Titled “No Outlet,” episode 4 on Tuesday finds Jo struggling with whether or not she should continue to shelter Piper, the promo trailer shows, and if she’s a danger to Jo’s family. Meanwhile, “Benny enlists a friend to hack Kindred’s [Terry O’Quinn] secret files, and Chris [Robert Bailey Jr.] clashes with a headstrong informant he’s assigned to protect,” according to the synopsis.

Bailey told International Business Times at New York Comic Con earlier this month he’s excited for fans to see this “Emergence” episode because of his character’s storyline.

“I’m really excited about [episode] 4 for Chris, in particular. I think he has a lot of fun moments with some characters that maybe in three will be introduced,” he told IBT. “There’s some new characters coming into play and then Chris interacts with them quite a bit in four and it’s a really fun episode.”

The ABC show also stars Ashley Aufderheide as Mia Evans, Zabryna Guevara as Abby Frasier, Donald Faison as Alex Evans and Clancy Brown as Ed Sawyer.

Episode 4, which was written by Jerome Schwartz and directed by Alex Pillai, guest stars Maria Dizzia (Emily), Ashlie Atkinson (April) and Nikki Massoud (Lily Salgado).

“Emergence” airs on ABC on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EDT.
