Update: 11:47 p.m. EST- Oakland Police said three guns were recovered from the scene of the shooting at Target store parking lot in Emeryville. Two people were shot and both are in critical condition. One of them was found a block away from the scene of shooting.

Update: 11:12 p.m. EST — Police said they detained 2 suspects in connection with the shooting. Weapons were also recovered, however authorities did not specify what kind of weapons were used. Witnesses said at least 10 shots were fired.

Police in the East Bay on Monday night were investigating a shooting in the parking lot of a Target retail store in Emeryville, Oakland, that injured two people, one critically, according to authorities.

Emeryville and Oakland police confirmed there is an investigation underway outside the store located at 1555 40th Street in Emeryville. One person was detained, according to the Oakland Police Department.

The incident caused serious traffic congestions in the area, according to Emeryville police chief Jennifer Tejada.

Oakland police stated two people were found injured with gunshot wounds in a car in the store’s parking lot. One of the victims was said to be in critical condition. Witnesses told authorities they saw a man next to an SUV firing a gun.

Police confirmed no police personnel were involved in the shooting, according to San Francisco CBS Local. The Target store was reportedly closed and customers were cleared from the area for the investigation.
